One person was killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a gas tanker and a container lorry near Kollahalli on Bengaluru-Mangaluru national highway on Monday night.
Abdul Rehman (28) from Tamil Nadu, the driver of the gas tanker, was killed in the mishap.
While the gas tanker was bound for Hassan, the container lorry was moving towards Sakleshpur. The driver of the tanker tried to overtake a KSRTC bus, when it rammed against the container coming from the opposite direction. The front portion of the tanker was damaged and the driver’s leg got severed due to the impact , killing him on the spot.
Passengers of the KSRTC bus said, 30 of them had a narrow escape as the tanker also hit the bus.
