Mangaluru: The Kavoor police and Anti Drugs Squad personnel have been successful in seizing drugs that were intended for distribution during New Year celebrations by arresting three persons , on the banks of river at Kuloor in Mangaluru. The police have seized drugs worth Rs nine lakh from the arrested.
Commissioner of Police, Anupam Agrawal said that seized drugs comprise five kg of ganja, 100 grams of MDMA, seven grams of cocaine, 35 MDMA pills weighing 17 grams, 100 grams of charas, eight grams of hydro weed, and three LSD strips.
In addition, a sharp knife, weighing scales, plastic covers, a car and an unregistered scooter used for transportation were also confiscated. The arrested are Devaraj (37) from Sampige Nagara in Udyavara of Udupi, Sheikh Tahim (20) from Brahmagiri in Udupi and Mohammed Parvez Ummar (25) from Kinnimulki, said the commissioner.
He said there are three ganja peddling cases against Parvez in Udupi. There are a few more individuals involved and efforts are on to trace them.
