An upgraded and advanced studio of the Department of State Educational Research and Training (DSERT) was recently inaugurated by Primary and Secondary Education minister S Suresh Kumar.
The Embassy Services Private Ltd (ESPL) has donated digital cameras, a video streaming studio, LED HD television, lights, microphones, an audio mixer, audio distribution amplifier and audio monitors.
The upgraded studio is expected to benefit about 41 lakh school kids across Karnataka who are presently tutored through an online medium in the form of a separate channel - Makkala Vaani.
“The department of education has set up various online channels to ensure students do not lose touch with their schooling, especially those at government schools. The ESPL’s contribution will ensure infrastructure is in place to support such huge population of kids across Karnataka,” a statement from ESPL said.
Minister Suresh Kumar said, “The safety and health of our students is the utmost priority – we are extremely thankful to ESPL for their support. We will be able to utilise it to assist in teacher training and development.”
Pradeep Lala, managing director & CEO, ESPL, said, “We believe that education empowers the next generation. We have been working with government schools since 2012 and are very grateful to play a role in ensuring that the infrastructure is in place for students to continue their schooling.”
