Gauribidanur: The Government Model Higher Primary School in Hosur village in Gauribidanur is on the threshold of centenary year celebrations. But what has doubled the celebration is the fact that its the year of birth centenary year of its celebrated alumni and noted educationist and physicist H Narasimhaiah, fondly called as HN.

Thinker and educationist H Narasimhaiah had completed his primary education in the same school, that was set up 1920. The school has turned 104! Besides, it was the only school standing tall since pre-Independence day era in Hosur hobli. 

It has been decided to celebrate birth centenary celebrations of both the school and its alumni, HN with meaningful programmes.

CM to take part

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the programme in Hosur in Gauribidanur taluk on January 31.

Besides, he will also release a book on school development. 

“We wanted to celebrate the centenary year celebrations in 2023 but due to Covid and other reasons, it did not take off. January 31 happens to be
HN’s death anniversary. So, we decided to hold the programme on the day,” said school’s centenary year celebration committee. Programmes have been lined up to improve the school that the state has seen among the model schools and other programmes that reflect values like - scientific temper and importance of education - that HN had strongly believed in.
