Mysuru: State BJP president B Y Vijayendra on Friday said that at least eight Congress leaders are waiting to be chief minister.

“Siddaramaiah will not be the chief minister for a full term and he may resign any time,” he told reporters.

Vijayendra charged that Siddaramaiah is indulging in political conspiracy and is using political pawns against his deputy D K Shivakumar as his agreed term is ending.

“Shivakumar claims that he has a major role in propelling the Congress to power and dreams of becoming chief minister. But the others are doing dinner meetings to ensure that Shivakumar doesn’t become chief minister, even if Siddaramaiah
resigns.”

“Several ministers are issuing statements against Shivakumar at the behest of Siddaramaiah,” Vijayendra alleged.

‘Caste census political pawn’

Vijayendra said, “Caste census is only a political pawn of Siddaramaiah. He remembers it when his chair is not firm. The report is leaked. It is not scientific. Lingayat and Vokkaliga communities have opposed it. We will support if members of even other castes get justice”.

“The Congress-led government is not concerned about development. Incidents, like cow udder slashing, ATM theft in Bidar and sexual abuse of a minor girl in Gulbarga (Kalaburagi) indicate that law and order have collapsed in the state.”

“They (the government) are not doing anything to punish anti-nationals and have indulged in minority appeasement,” he criticised.

‘I will continue as state BJP president’

State BJP president B Y Vijayendra said, “I will build the BJP and I will only bring the party to power. It means that I will only continue as state BJP president.

“I have successfully handled the responsibility for a year and I will put more effort and work in future too.”

He said, “All confusions among the BJP leaders will be cleared. The statements by rebels will stop soon. I will build the party, taking everyone into confidence.”

Vijayendra said that he has told former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi and others to be mindful when they speak against former CM B S Yeddyurappa as it would hurt the feelings of the party workers.

“Yediyurappa has built the party from the grassroots level - right from the village level,” Vijayendra said.
