Mysuru: “The elections to the Mysuru, Shivamogga, Davangere, Tumakuru and Mangaluru Municipal Corporations will be held this year itself. Preparations are underway," said Karnataka Chief Election Commissioner G S Sangreshi.
Speaking to reporters in Mysuru, on Monday, he said, “It is fine if the government furnishes the reservation list. If it doesn’t, we will approach the High Court and conduct the elections as per the old reservation list. We have written to the government asking it to submit the reservation list of Municpal Corporations as soon as possible”.
"The voter’s list is ready for all the five city corporations. The government has sought time till the end of May to provide the reservation list for the Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayats.
"After the government submits the list, we will need another two-month time to prepare for the elections," he said.
