Suntikoppa: The body of an 18-year-old female elephant was found on Thursday in an estate near Kambibane Ooruguppe Paisari.
It is suspected that the elephant may have died in a fight among wild elephants, and the incident is believed to have occurred on the night of June 25.
Forest officials, including Madikeri DCF Harshavardhan, Kushalnagar ACF Gopal, RFO Ratan, and staff, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
After the post-mortem examination of the elephant's body, it was shifted to the Anekaadu Reserve Forest.
