Chikkamagaluru: Forest department has cleared an encroachment on 43 acres of forest land in Muttodi region of Bhadra tiger reserve.

A case was registered by the department in Chikkamagaluru court against a private person towards clearing the encroachment.

Conducting an investigation, the court had ordered on April 28 to clear the encroachment and take the land in the custody of the forest department.

Accordingly, under the guidance of Chikkamagaluru Circle Conservator of Forests, Yashpal Kshreerasagara, Bhadra tiger reserve DCF Pulkit Meena, ACF Shivaratrishwaraswamy, RFO Jagadish Meda and others, more than 100 forest personnel conducted an operation for continuous three days to clear the coffee plantation in the encroached land.
