According to Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) officials, colleges have agreed to take remedial sessions for students, who miss classes due to the delay in counselling. This year, counselling for admission to engineering courses was delayed and KEA worked even on Sundays to increase the pace of the counselling process.
Candidates with ranks from 16,001 to 20,000 would appear for casual vacany round counselling on Saturday. Meanwhile, colleges are all set to welcome the new batch of budding engineers with a grand inaugural sessions. From corporate honchos to spiritual gurus, the institutes have organised grand gala functions to welcome the budding engineers.
KEA office spokesperson told Deccan Herald that a decision about fate of students of Godutai Engineering College, would be taken on Monday.
AICTE had withdrawn recognition for the college earlier. “We cannot take a decision unless we get a clear picture about seat allotment,” said SP Kulkarni, Administrative Officer, KEA.
