'Ensure there is no shortage of water in villages'

MLA C T Ravi directed officials to conduct special meetings to initiate measures to ensure drinking water facilities in all villages.

Speaking at a hobli-level Janasamparka Sabhe at Sakharayapattana on Tuesday, he said, “The officials should solve the problems aired by the public at Janasamparka Sabhe. There is a need to find solutions if there are any technical issues in solving the problems. Pension and revenue adalats should be organised in villages regularly.”

The MLA said that the DPR has been prepared to provide permanent irrigation facilities in the region and is before the government for approval. “We will not indulge in politics when it comes to development works,” he added.

Deputy Commissioner Bagadi Gautham said, “There are complaints against officials who failed to receive phone calls. All the departments should work in coordination. The officials should visit the villages and find solutions to the problems.”

Problems galore

The villagers said that mid-day meals are not supplied properly at the anganwadi in Pillenahalli. There are no cattle ponds at Pillenahalli. An electric line passes above houses at D Karehalli, posing a threat to the lives of the people.

Villagers complained about the lack of drinking water facilities at Chandrashekarapura, Manjihalli, Jodihochihalli which have been inconveniencing residents.

They also said that humps should be laid on the road near Basaveshwara High School and complained against the poor quality of work on backward classes hostel at Sakharayapattana.
