Chikkaballapur: Switching to electric vehicles in lieu of fuel-powered automobiles is not an ecoological solution, opined Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev in Chikkaballapur on Sunday. The Isha Foundation founder, however admitted that use of electric vehicles did effect a reduction in local pollution levels in the urban centres.
Interacting with journalists at the Isha Yoga Centre in Avalagurki in Chikkaballapur, Sadhguru said, “Electric vehicles are fantastic for city environment and health/ wellbeing of urban dwellers but not an ecological solution as we are anyway burning fossil fuel to generate electricity.”
Sadhguru said that careful examination of the energy generated either by burning coal, or petroleum products such as diesel, and the methods employed to generate electricity, which, in turn, powers EVs, would show that switching to EVs was not wholly eco-friendly.
Meanwhile, Isha Foundation is set to launch an app ‘Miracle of Mind’ in February, aimed at enabling people across the world attain lead mentally peaceful lives. Isha Foundation aims to reach 300 crore people across the globe through the app.
