"I cannot take action against MPs and MLAs, and can give report on them only if the party asks. Based on the opinion of the party's office-bearers in respective Assembly constituencies, expulsion of S T Someshekhar and Shivaram Hebbar was recommended. Action in this regard may be initiated any time, as senior leaders will take a suitable decision at the appropriate time," he said.

He told reporters in Hubballi that he had sent his recommendation to the central discipline committee twice.

Regarding the dissidence in BJP involving M P Renukacharya, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and others, Patil said the matter has been brought to the notice of the high command, and action would take place regarding the internal matters of the party as per the procedure.

Senior leaders would put an end to all confusions within the party by this month's end, he predicted.
