Belagavi: A farmer was killed in a lightning strike during unseasonal rains combined with thunders near Nesargi in Bailhongal taluk on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Basavaraj Nagappa Sangolli (35) resident of Karikatti. His wife and two others have suffered injuries and have been admitted to a private hospital in Belagavi for treatment.
Lightning struck them while they were on their way back home after working in the agricultural lands.
Nesargi police have registered a case.
