Areas affected
In Kasaba, Gonibeedu, Banakal, Balur and Kalasa hobli of Mudigere taluk paddy has been cultivated in more than 9,000 acres.
Generally the grown crop is harvested in November or December, but the farmers are now apprehensive about the yield.
Official speaks
Informing the same to Deccan Herald, Agriculture Department Assistant Director Siddhappa said that due to the cloudy atmosphere and unfavourable weather, the yield would decrease up to 20 per cent.
Owing to untimely rain the crops are withering away, which would result in another 10 per cent loss, he said.
