Bengaluru: CM Siddaramaiah said on Monday that the state government would take steps to form a fast-track court to provide justice to the victims in the 'dishonour’ killing case of Manya Patil.
Taking to X, Siddaramaiah noted that the case came under the purview of the Act to curb atrocities against Dalits, and that a chargesheet had to be filed within 60 days. Steps had been taken to appoint a private prosecutor, he added.
Stating that "dishonour killings make the entire society hang its head in shame", the CM added that steps would be taken to form a special law in the coming days.
