Vadagera (Yadgir district): Fearing arrest in caste abuse case, a youth ended his life by hanging himself from a tree at his farm. The youth’s father suffered a fatal heart attack after learning of his son’s suicide. The incident occurred on Tuesday.
The police have identified the deceased as Mehboob (21) and his father Syed Ali Mullasab (50).
According to police, Mehboob had a quarrel with a Dalit family over an access route to his farm a week ago. The members of SC community had threatened Mehboob with a caste abuse case.
Fearing arrest and legal consequences, Mehboob ended his life by hanging from a tree at his farm. A while later his father Syed Ali, unable to cope with his son’s death, succumbed to heart attack.
The police have booked a case against 8 people and arrested Eshappa Naikal, Vadagera SI Mehboob Ali said.
