A bench of Justices Dalveer Bhandari and Deepak Verma issued notice to the Karnataka government asking it to file its response. The Bangalore Turf Club, the Turf Club Staff Association and others challenged the Karnataka High Court decision that endorsed the State government order to shift the BTC from Race Course Road to Doddajala by September 22.
‘’The petitioner club has been carrying on racing activity on the land involved in this case for over 145 years,’’ said the petition.
The government of Karnataka sought to evict the petitioner from the said lands despite the fact that the petitioner was granted permanent rights over the land by the Maharaja of Mysore, which has been incorporated in a government order dated 7/05/1915, it added.
