Dharwad: The Dharwad Rural Police have registered a FIR against activist Girish Mattennavar on Friday.
Manjunath Jakkannavar of Mugad village in Dharwad taluk, who belongs to the Jain community has lodged a complaint against Mattennavar with the local police station, accusing him of making derogatory remarks against Jain community and hurt the sentiments of the members of the community.
The complaint said Mattennavar had spoken ill of the community during an interview to a private YouTube channel in Ujire.
Jakkannavar has also sought action against the YouTube channel.
