First transgender woman appointed Youth Congress Mangaluru South Secretary

Sanjana Chalavadi, a transgender and a beautician, has been elected as the Youth Congress Mangaluru South unit general secretary. She is the first transgender to attain the post.

The Youth Congress elections were held online from January 10 to 12.

"I am happy to be elected as the general secretary of Youth Congress Mangaluru South unit," said Sanjana, who had won the Parivarthan Trans Queen beauty pageant contest held in Bengaluru in 2018.

Shiva has been elected as the president of Youth Congress Mangaluru South unit.

Sohan and Deekshith Poojary have been elected as the vice-presidents.
