Beechanahalli police have arrested three persons in connection with the murderous assault on three fishermen in Kabini backwaters in H D Kote taluk in the district recently.
The arrested have been identified as Shivaraju, Lakshmana and Manju of Gundattur village in the taluk.
Among the accused, Manju had earlier attempted suicide along with the girl he was in love with.
The row over fishing between Manju and the girl’s uncle was the reason that had forced the couple in love to make a bid to end lives.
Sources said, the trio were among the 10 member gang that assaulted the fishermen- Prakash, Prasanna and Ramegowda a week ago, resulting in their death.
The accused have been remanded in judicial custody till June 22.
