The deceased are identified as Munittayya (40, Krishnappa (35), Mallesh (26), Kumar (38) and Muttarayappa (42), all of whom are residents of Madhuranahosahalli.
Three persons, including the driver are seriously injured. The rest 5 escaped with minor injuries.
The lorry was coming from Dabuspet, laden with nilgiri wood poles. Near Doddabelamagal the tyre burst, and the lorry hit a tree.
A case has been booked.
Child kidnapped
A student has been kidnapped from a school at Madanayakahalli in Nelamangala.
Suhas (3) was playing at the school grounds when miscreants kidnapped him.
The parents lodged a complaint at the Nelamangala police station but no action has been taken to find the child.
The parents are threatening to protest if the police do not take action immediately.
