Hassan/Mysuru, DHNS: Five cardiac arrest-related deaths were reported from Hassan and Mysuru districts. Of the five, four are from Hassan district, while one is a native of Mysuru district.

C B Virupaksha (70) of Chikkanayakanahalli village and Devamma (72) of Arakere village, both from Sakleshpur taluk, died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday night.

Santosh (41), a gram panchayat member from Kalkere village of Alur taluk, died of heart attack in sleep on Wednesday night. Sampath Kumar (53) of Karigowda Colony in Hassan city also died of the same cause on Wednesday night.

With this, around 30 people have died of cardiac arrest across Hassan district in the last 45 days. 

The medical team has been visiting the houses and gathering details from the families of the deceased.

In Mysuru

A 51-year-old man has died of cardiac arrest while using a treadmill at a gym in Vijaynagar first stage of Mysuru city on Saturday. B N Sridhar, a civil engineer, was a resident of Gokulam.

He hailed from Junjanahalli of Holenarsipur taluk in Hassan district. Sources said he had undergone heart surgery.
