Five years term for malicious action

The district sessions court has sentenced one Bajigadde Sheshappa, accused of setting a house and plantation on fire, to five years imprisonment.

Sheshappa was accused of setting ablaze the property belonging to N H Balachandra at Mundadka Chadavu near Sampaje on December 10, 2009. A case was registered by Madikeri rural police.

Judge S R Somashekhar has also imposed a penalty of Rs 30,000 on the convicted, of which Rs 25,000 should be given to the victim.
