The students complained of stomach pain and started vomiting a few hours after eating the food. A total of 299 students are studying from first to seventh standard in the school. Most of them who took ill were fourth, fifth and sixth standard students.
Tension prevailed for sometime as almost all the students complained of uneasiness. Four students, Niranjan, Rakshitha, Pradeep and Tanuja were immediately shifted to a private nursing home in Mandya for treatment. While others were treated at government hospital in Malavalli.
On receiving of information,Block Education Officer M Shivamadappa, District Health Officer Arvindappa, Taluk Medical Officer Gandesh, Dr Sanjay, Dr Nagaraj, Food Inspector M K Vishwanath and others visited the spot.
