He was addressing the inaugural of a State-level convention of the DYFI at Comrade Jyothi Basu Stadium of Karmik Bhavan.

There is a fear that the privatisation policy of the Union government that is intending to cover even the Life Insurance Corporation of India will affect the jobs of about 10 lakh persons employed in the public sector. The country is witnessing farmers’ suicide per every 20 minutes. The anti-farmer policies of the government are responsible for this. In addition to this, the government is trying to bring BT brinjal to the country, he said.

DYFI State President N L Bharat who presided over the programme said the BJP government that came to power in the name of farmers is trying to implement the policies of the Rashriya Swaymsevak Sangh thus to cause communal violenes but not implementing scientific techniques agriculture.

DYFI State Secretary B Rajashekhar Murthy, Vice President Muneer Katipalla, Assistant Secretary Suresh Kallagar, Treasurer Lingaraju, member Padukone Subrahmanya Achar and Kaviraj Udupi were present.
