They were found dead by the patrolling team near Kirubanakallu Gudda, in Holemoordatte beat, Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary limits, in Hanur taluk, Chamarajanagar district, on Monday night.

In the order copy addressed to the PCCF, Khandre has directed the officials to find out whether the cubs died because the mother did not feed them, as there is no information about the mother or if there was any other reason. He has sought a report within five days, based on the images available from camera traps. According to the officials, the cubs were around 15-days-old.
