Four persons died and 36 others were injured when a tempo and lorry collided on the bypass near Raynal on the outskirts of the city on Monday night.
According to the police, the deceased are Baramgouda (55), Savatri (35), driver Puttappa Barguru (28), and Ramu (10). The injured have been admitted to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Hubballi. Police said, as many as 50 people were travelling in the tempo.
All of them hailed from Mandiganal in Kundgol taluk of Dharwad district. They were returning from an engagement in Belagavi when accident occurred. The Hubballi rural police have registered a case.
