Udupi Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi has said that a plastic container with the letters S and T painted on it has been recovered.
“Sindhudurga police are investigating matters in relation to the container. In addition, two containers tampered by the Maharashtra fishermen have been found and are being investigated,” said the SP.
The superintendent was briefing Home Minister M B Patil on Saturday over various investigations being taken up to trace the missing fishermen.
He said the district police are in constant touch with the Maharashtra and Goa police. “Four teams have been formed and currently two are working with the neighbouring state police,” he added.
Fishermen leader Yashpal Suvarna said, “Hue and cry is raised if a farmer commits suicide. Sadly, there is none to take care of fishermen.”
