The picturesque Tungabhadra Dam (TB Dam) in Ballari district, a major water reservoir of the State, has become a preferred destination for tourists. The Dam, located six km from Hosapete, was designed and constructed entirely by Indian-origin engineers using indigenous technology in the early years of Independence. Beautiful gardens and musical fountains developed on both sides of the Dam add to the beauty and aesthetics of the atmosphere. An aquarium called Parnaja can also be found in the vicinity. A multimedia theatre with a seating capacity of 50 and equipped with state-of-art technology has also been constructed here.

Two guest houses, Vaikunta and Kailasa, located near the Dam, provide wonderful views of the reservoir. That Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru stayed in Vaikunta Guest House when he visited the place in 1952 gives the place a historical significance. In fact, many veterans have stayed in this guest house. The foundation of this guest house, which is on a hill, was laid in 1951. The Pampa Darshan Tower near this guest house also provides a panoramic view of the dam and the reservoir.
