The Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized 6.3 kg of ganja worth Rs 3.16 lakh at the Mangaluru Junction Railway Station.
When RPF team was inspecting trains along with the crime investigation bureau of Palakkad Railway Division and the Karnataka Excise Department ahead of the Independence Day, they noticed baggage in a general second class coach of train no 16516 Karwar-Yeshwantpur tri-weekly express.
The seized ganja has been handed over to the Excise department. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered. The inspection was carried out by RPF Mangaluru Junction inspector Manoj Kumar Yadav, Crime Bureau circle inspector N Kesavadas and others.
The investigation is under way.
