Udupi: The Udupi CEN (Cybercrime, Economic offences, Narcotics) police arrested a man and seized 7.304 kg ganja from his possession.
Acting on a tip off, ganja procured from Vijayawada is being sold to the public at Second Cross Tangode in Manipal of 80 Badagabettu village, CEN inspector led by Ramachandra Nayak conducted a raid and arrested Arib Ahmmed.
The police have recovered ganja worth Rs 5.75 lakh, two mobile phones worth Rs 20,000, a bag used for carrying ganja, another black colour bag, and Rs 1520 cash. The value of the total seized property is Rs 5,95,520. The arrested had informed the police that he had purchased ganja from a person engaged in riding cycle rickshaw in Vijayawada. A case has been registered under sections 8(c), 20 (b) (ii), (B) NDPS Act 1985.
