The residents of Lakshmish Nagar have complained on the strong smell emanating from the garbage dumped in their layout.

They said that because of garbage mounds, stray pig menace has increased. Town Muncipal Corporation has failed to dispose off the waste daily.

Surprisingly, the waste dumped in front of the house of MLA Dr Y C Vishwanath has not been disposed for the last several days.

“We have submitted complaints to the chief officer, councillor to clear the garbage. However, our efforts went in vain. The TMC does not clear the garbage for  several weeks in the vicinity. Stray dogs and pigs pouncing on the dumped garbage is a common scene in Kadur,” said a resident.

The residents fear the spread of communicable diseases owing to the apathy of the municipal officials.

The health inspectors too do not visit the spot, alleged the residents. Women from the colony said that the TMC is supplying water once in 10 days. “The needs of the people are ignored. We are worried over the supply of water during summer,” they said.
