Sri Vigneshwara Gas Service, has reportedly duped a number of customers — all resident of Chikkanayakanahalli in the taluk. The victims are identified as Cheluvaraju, Subbanna, Shylaja, Marichannegowda and Julappana Ramegowda.

It is reported that they had registered thier names for new connections in May 2009 and had also paid the deposit of amount of Rs 5,500 each. But even after three years they did not get their LPG connection despite visiting the agency frequently for enquiry. They had been assured of issuing the connection as soon as possible as the process was under progress.

The victims were in for a shock when they received their consumer books on Sunday as the records in it showed that their LPG connections have been issued in May 2009 and has been misused till date by the gas agency itself (Indane gas, Kuvempunagar).

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Cheluvegowda said the consumer books were handed over to them by some unknown persons from the agency and those who have received the deposit amount have vanished from the scene. The cylinders have been issued in the names of Kiran, M S Vinay and many others. Now, they have got only the consumer books and not the stove and the LPG cylinder.

The agency had also taken their ration cards for verification purpose at the time of registration and has not returned them — putting them into a lot of inconvenience.

Since three years had passed, they had to inevitably seek new ration cards, citing they had lost the cards, added Cheluvaraju. He also demanded action against the authorities concerned.
