Sneha from St Joseph’s High School, Kolar Gold Fields secured the highest marks at 95 and won the first place.
The next four places were won by K Kavyashree (90 marks) from the Government High School, Bangarpet, P Manoj Kumar (85 marks) from Subhash High School, Kolar and Puneeth Gowda (80 marks) from Amara Jyothi School, Mulbagal and D Chaithanya (75 marks) from Government High School, Bangarpet, respectively.
‘Women’s participation’
The event, organised at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium, saw the girl students participate in large numbers.
Girls exceeded the number of boys - both in the ruling, as well as in the opposition parties.
Right from the chief minister to the assembly speaker, most of them were girl students vying for the posts.
Sneha, as the Assembly speaker, controlled the entire session with poise and dignity.
Certificates were distributed to all the 95 participants who took part in the event.
The Youth Parliament was inaugurated by the Department of Law and Parliamentary Affairs Secretary Lobo. He was also a part of the jury, along with Education Officer A N Nagendra Prasad, C Bhairappa, Deputy Director of Education Department Prahlad Gowda and Education Officer Subrahmanya.
