State Congress president Dinesh Gundu Rao on Wednesday urged Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to ensure that Congress party workers get more representation while nominating members to various committees of the government.

The Congress workers should get more representation in assembly constituencies represented by the party MLAs. Nomination of members should be done in the ratio of 2:1 (two Congress members and one JD(S) member) in committees such as Akrama-Sakrama, land tribunals at district and taluk levels, he stated in a letter to the Chief Minister.

The same formula could be applied in the constituencies represented by JD(S) MLAs, giving priority to the regional party, he added.
