Former chief minister S M Krishna on Friday said that the Centre should go in for multiple surgical strikes against Pakistan as a reply to the terrorist attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama.

In a statement, Krishna, who has worked as external affairs minister, stated that India’s policy towards Pakistan needs to be more “muscular and lethal”.

“Pakistan must be spoken in a language it understands. It will be naive to believe that one surgical strike will discipline Pakistan and repeated military blows must be undertaken,” Krishna stated.

As many as 49 CRPF personnel were martyred in a terror attack on their convoy on Thursday. Former director general and inspector general of police Shankar Bidari has offered to go to Kashmir to fight terrorism. He tweeted, “I am 64 years old. I am ready to go to Kashmir if given an appropriate post and put an end to the terrorist activities in Kashmir. It does not matter even if I have to sacrifice my life for the cause of erasing terrorism.”
