Gold worth Rs 39.48 lakh seized at Mangalore International Airport

The officers of Mangalore Air Customs arrested two persons for smuggling gold at Mangalore International Airport.

According to officials, 851 grams of gold worth Rs 39.48 lakh was seized. The team arrested Fousiya Missiriya Moideen Kunhi, aged 33 years who was travelling along with her husband Moideen Kunhi Cheroor, aged 44 years and four children.

Hailing from Cheroor in Kasargod, they arrived in Mangaluru airport from Dubai. The gold was smuggled by concealing in the specially designed inner garment of the lady passenger. Further investigation is under progress.
