The Government is making partiality while selecting beneficiaries for the Vidarbha package, alleged CPI leader Gopal Shetty.

The CPI activists also staged a protest in front of Veterinary Hospital on Friday. Only 13 beneficiaries have been selected in Kalasa hobli, of which majority of them belong to the ruling party BJP.

The DC level committee was pressurised by the MLA to select non beneficiaries as beneficiaries, Shetty alleged.

Felix Rodrigues, Lancy Fernandes, Philip Rodrigues and Simon Rodrigues alleged that inspite of getting training in piggery, they were not selected for the Vidarbha package.
Pig species development centre which was set up at an estimated cost of Rs 36 lakh 12 years ago is lying idle near horticulture nursery. The availability of funds for Rashtriya Krishi Vikasa Yojane is not being utilised, alleged CPI Secretary Annappa.
The DC should drop the selected beneficiaries. If they fail to do so, then we will stage fasting on January 15, they said.
