“Since yesterday I have been very disappointed with the State Government for the fall of a democratic institution like the Lokayukta,” he said.
The Government has failed to implement the rule of law. “Nobody is above the law,” he said.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 63rd Annual General Meeting of the Federation of the Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FKCCI), Bhardwaj said the Government had already been explained ‘eloquently’ with regard to the two dangers to the State.
“I and Santosh (Hegde) have both explained to the Government the troubles the State faces from illegal mining and land mafia,” he said.
When questioned about his assessment of the ruling BJP Government on their completion of two years in power, Bhardwaj said: “I am a critical Governor. I will always criticise the Government. You should ask the people to rate the Government.”
He, however, expressed hope that the Government will abide by the rule of law.
“This is my Government and I hope they will perform better,” he said.
