He was speaking after inaugurating the newly-built guest house at the cost of Rs 78 lakh at Bangarpet on Tuesday. On the occasion, he also opened a bridge built at the cost of Rs 112 lakh.

The government is committed to complete the Yaragol  project as it ensures drinking water to the district. However, it would not be possible to provide drinking water from Yaragol project, alone. Hence, the government is working out strategies with the Irrigation Department. Immediate measures would be taken to address the drinking water crisis, he added.

He promised to speak to the Chief Minister with regard to development of main roads into two-lane roads and completion of mini Vidhana Soudha.

He observed that the vehicular population has increased in the town but the road capacity is only 16 tonnes. As a result, the roads are deteriorating sooner than ever.
As many as 60,000 crore funds have been earmarked for development of road in the budget and at least Rs one lakh crore funds will be kept aside in the next budget.
The 52.54 km Hoskote-Chintamani road will be developed at a cost of Rs 124 crore.
Legislator M Narayanswami urged the minister to develop the road into two-way to check the increasing accidents.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Gangadharaiah, KGF MLA Y Sampangi, Zilla Panchayat president Mangamma Muniswamy and vice-president Navida Khanam were present.
