Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, he said “development is not possible unless we are self sufficient in electricity. Gujarath and Tamil Nadu have been producing electricity
from the flowing water.”

He said: “Private companies have conducted survey on the mini hydro power projects in the state. Presently, we are producing electricity from thermal and hydro electricity. However, owing to the decline in monsoon, the dams are yet to fill and a situation has arisen wherein load shedding is necessitated in the month of July.Though the survey was conducted for the mini hydro power projects, the government is yet to give its nod for the same.”

He said “the milk route had already commenced in the taluk. About 2,500 to 3,000 litres milk needs to be procured daily. However, at present only 500 litres milk is being procured. To increase the milk production, cattle will be given to 75 beneficiaries through Milk Union.”

The MLA said that the bus stand in the heart of the city will be extended.  Town Panchayat had already undertaken the work on the development of road from town panchayat to bus stand.

The work on footpath will also be undertaken. The concreting of the road will be undertaken at Medarabeedi, Azad road, Nehru Road, Koladabeedi, Ambedkar Nagara, Bhavani Shankar Beedi. Town Panchayat President B S Ashishkumar, taluk BJP unit President K P Sampathkumar and others were present.
