The State government has formally ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to probe into the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) on Thursday.
On the basis of the complaint from Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (DPAR) on alleged corruption in the recruitment of gazetted officers at KPSC, Vidhana Soudha Police station had lodged FIR against eight officials. “We have received all necessary approval’s from the government.
The case will be handed over to a investigation official” a CID official said.
The FIR includes names of several KPSC officials such as Gonal Bhimappa (former Chairman), K R Sundar (KPSC Secretary), Dr Mangala Shridhar (Member) her Personal Assistant Ashok Kumar, Sudhir (Engineer, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board), Somanath (Executive Engineer, Bangalore Development Authority) and officials Rajashekar and Arunachalam.
The DPAR has filed complaint under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption act, Indian Penal Code (IPC) 420 (Cheating), 120 (Criminal Consiparacy), 418 (Cheating with knowledge that wrongful loss) and 465 (Forgery).
