Social Welfare Department on Tuesday partnered with 30 private organisations for promoting Samruddhi scheme.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of the launch, Social Welfare Minister Priyank Kharge said that Samruddhi had been launched to create 10,000 Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes entrepreneurs per annum over next three years.

Youth above 21 years with a pass in SSLC can register themselves for the scheme. The registration starts on November 7 and training begins in December.

“In a first-of-its kind programme launched by the department, certified training programmes will be held for the youth. The scheme will be executed by partnering with private organisations and corporate houses. The corporate houses will invest upto 10% or more in the training. In all the government will invest Rs 800 crore. We will be providing seed money of upto Rs 10 lakh. This amount will vary depending upon the type of entrepreneurship,” the minister said.

Explaining the process, Kharge said that the duration of training varies from three days to 15 days.

Samruddhi follows Unnati and Airavata schemes which were also aimed marginalised communities.
