Speaking on the occasion, Dr V S Acharya said Hemalatha was known for proficient administration besides being committed towards social causes. He appreciated both Hemalatha and her spouse former Deputy Commissioner of Udupi V Ponnuraj for being instrumental in taking up road widening process in the city.
He informed that newly constructed DC’s Office complex will be inaugurated on August 19, 2011. Speaking on the occasion, outgoing DC Hemalatha said Udupi district has become a home district for her. “Udupi has become a part and parcel of my life and the district has a great scope to work,” she opined.
