If Mysore becomes greater Mysore (Bruhat Mysore Mahanagara Palike) who will be largely benefitted?
It’s nobody but the real estate mafia with medical education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas having a larger share in it, alleged MP A H Vishwanath.
Addressing media here on Tuesday, Vishwanath alleged that the minister and his coterie of friends in the party have huge tracts of lands in their possession. The lands in every nook and corner of the city — in all the directions — is owned by very few men.
Vishwanath asked MCC authorities whether they have taken Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) into confidence, before tabling the proposal for greater Mysore. He expressed fear that it would become difficult in the future to develop layouts.
He demanded the intervention of governor H R Bhardwaj with both district and state heading towards tumultuous future. He predicted that the year ahead awaits bad phase.
Mincing no words, the MP held the corporation commissioner K S Raykar too responsible for the mess in ambitious project like Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM). Stating that the commissioner is yet to reply for his letter seeking information on who is the third party (agency) for the project and also the tariff fixed for them, the MP said ‘the works under the project are being carried out keeping even corporators in dark.’
On state politics, he demanded both former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and state BJP president K S Eshwarappa to clarify on the recent bombshell dropped by Yeddyurappa. Yeddyurappa had blamed Eshwarappa for conspiring against him to the extent of sending him behind bars.
In a mocking tone, Vishwanath said, on the other hand, D V Sadananda Gowda who was elevated to the post of chief minister is hobnobbing with Janata Dal (Secular) supremo H D Deve Gowda.
