Chikmagalur Circle rural Police Sub Inspector Vijaya Prasad and Aldoor Sub Inspector Mohammd Salim visited the colony and interacted with residents at the Ambedkar Community Hall. About 200 residents participated in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Puttamadaiah said that there is a wrong notion among poor people that the police stations are functioning only for the rich. Poor people depend on middlemen to go to police stations. “Police is not working for a particular section. But instead, dispensing justice is the only job of police,” he added.

One should not blame the entire police fraternity, if someone make a mistake in the department. People should co-operate with police to maintain law and order in the locality, he said adding that people can visit police stations without any middlemen’s assistance.
Villagers brought to the notice of the officials that some miscreants are supplying illicit liquor to the colony. They also urged police to arrest those who supply illicity liquor to the colony.
