Chief Minister Siddaramaiah listened to grievances of the general public for over two hours at a janata darshan programme organised at his home office ‘Krishna.’
He received petitions that ranged from request to providing permanent housing, pension, regularisation of employment among others.
A group of residents informed Siddaramaiah that they had been allotted flats at Rs 5.5 lakh per unit under the economic weaker section category by the Bangalore Development Authority at Nandini Layout and Halagerahalli. Now, the BDA was seeking Rs 2.5 lakh more they claimed and sought the intervention of the chief minister.
One Balappa Nayak of Gokak taluk in Belgaum district complained to Siddaramaiah that supporters of former minister Balachandra Jarkiholi had assaulted him and his wife in retaliation that he had informed election officials about the sale of spurious liquor in the taluk during the recent assembly polls.
Nayak alleged that the local police refused to register his complaint. The jurisdictional Inspector General of Police also had turned a blind eye to his grievance, he alleged.
Siddaramaiah said he would direct the police to take note of the complaint and investigate.
Another group sought the regularisation of 600 revenue assistants working on a contract basis in various escoms. A group of Congress workers sought that they be appointed as members of various boards and corporations.
Siddaramaiah said a separate unit would be set up to process petitions received during the Janaspandana programmes.
