Rev Fr Frank Mathias (93) and Rev Dr Stany Vas (85), professors of Physics and Chemistry respectively, retired from service in the late 70s. But the impact they have left in the students live up to this age.

A group of students of the 1966-68 batch, under the leadership of N G Mohan and Santhosh Kumar Kadri organised a ‘Guruvandana’ programme to felicitate the two professors at Fathima Retreat House.
Non-executive Chairman of Karnataka Bank Ananthakrishna was the chief guest on the occasion.

Incidentally, half of the students were from commerce stream and were not taught by the science professors. But they had an association with these professors who had accompanied them during excursions and helped them in many other ways.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Vas remembered those days and explained how he then practiced a unique version of what we call ‘Gandhigiri’ today. Fr Mathias were almost in tears when he recalled his days in Aloysius college.
Director of Fathima Retreat house Fr Ronnie Prabhu and others were present on the occasion.
