Addressing reporters after participating in a road show as part of the election campaign here on Friday, Eshwarappa said that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa need not apologise.
“The Governor has insulted six crore people of Karnataka. Hence, the Governor should apologise to the people. A mass agitation will be launched if the Governor does not apologise,” he warned adding that BJP will not allow the Governor to function as an agent of Congress.

Complaint against Cong

Eshwarappa said that the Party will file complaint with the State Election Commission against Central Minister for Minority’s Welfare Salman Khurshid for violating the election code of conduct in Gulbarga by promising the setting up of Special Minority Zone.

“The Election Commission, which serve notice against the Chief Minister for giving statements, is now remaining silent,” Eshwarappa said and questioned as to why action was not taken against the Central Minister.

Talking about JD(S) Supremo Deve Gowda’s demand of handing over the inquiry into mining scam from Lokayukta to CBI, Eshwarappa said that it will be verified later. “Let Deve Gowda state publicly that he has no trust in Lokayukta and also let him declare that the support extended to Lokayukta Justice N Santhosh Hegde when he sent resignation was only a drama,” he added.

A padayatre, which commenced from Banashankari in the town, proceeded through B H Road, Vasavi Road, Doddapete and concluded at Swarnamba Circle on Jain Temple Road. Eshwarappa addressed the party workers at the Swarnamba Circle.
