Former Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru late on Saturday evening due to ill health.

As per the statement released by the JD(S), Kumaraswamy is having continuous fever because of the non-stop rallies he attended across the state.

He has postponed all his engagements for Sunday and has requested the party workers not to worry. The statement says that doctors advised him to rest for a few days and hence he got himself admitted to the hospital.

He has also developed a minor lung infection and is said to be affected by dust allergy.

Sources close to him have said that he might be discharged by Sunday evening.

Party workers and family members are concerned about Kumaraswamy's health as he had undergone heart surgery earlier.
